Candidates are Robin Distler, Mathias Green Jr., Gale Husack, Bob Kern, Donna Kulp and Michele Martineau. The Times News asked candidates for their platforms. One responded.

Q: What are your top three priorities if elected?

A: Taxpayers have taken the brunt of unfunded state mandates, pension costs and outrageous charter school funding. NL must balance limited resources while providing students with skills they need to succeed. Focus on curriculum, technology, STEAM education, alternative ways of learning, and diverse opportunities. Ensuring students are prepared for their next step of life is key.
