May 10, 1986 — The Northwestern girls receive four individual firsts, two of them by Stephanie Seyfried, to capture the team title at the Centennial League Track and Field championships. Seyfried captures the shot put (35-10) and discus (98-1), while Sally Spaar takes the 200 (26.7) and Tara Smith claims the 3200 (12:22.9). Pleasant Valley receives two gold medals from Nikole Matsko (100 and 300 hurdles), while Cynquetta Jones adds a first for PV in the triple jump. Other area firsts come from Lehighton’s Kim Muffley (high jump) and Palmerton’s Lisa Parsons (long jump).
