State police at Schuylkill Haven report incidents

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported:

• A 25-year-old woman from Saint Clair reported her 2013 maroon/burgundy Subaru Outback stolen. Troopers said the incident occurred at 11:27 a.m. on Saturday. The victim parked the car in the fire lane at the Weis Market in the Pottsville Plaza, off Route 61, in Norwegian Township, and ran into the store, leaving the vehicle running and the doors unlocked. Someone entered the vehicle and drove away with it.

Police said the suspect was a man wearing a black hoodie and jeans.

• Police released the results of a DUI Checkpoint that was conducted over the past weekend in Schuylkill County. The checkpoint was set up along Route 183 in the area Cressona borough hall building from 10 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. on Sunday.

The result of the checkpoint included about 150 motorists being contacted with 4 arrested for DUI, 4 arrested for drug possession, 1 person was taken into custody on a bench warrant out of Lehigh County, 5 cited for driving without a license along with 14 other traffic citations and 23 written warnings issued.

• A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence following an incident that occurred about 9:24 p.m. on Sunday.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said they received a report of an erratic driver going northbound on Route 183 in Wayne Township. Troopers responded to the area and observed a 2013 Ford F150 pickup. After observing multiple moving violations troopers stopped the truck. The driver was identified as Richard Hebelka, 43, of Schuylkill Haven.

He was found to be under the influence and was taken into custody and transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital — East, Pottsville, for a blood draw. Charges have been filed, troopers said.
