Charges filed in McAdoo

McAdoo police released information in several recent cases:

• Christian Zamudio, 18, of Hazleton, was charged with corruption of minors and simple assault after an incident that occurred on April 24. Police say Zamudio and three others, all minors, were causing a commotion in a common space in an apartment complex on West Blaine Street. A 77-year-old victim asked Zamudio and company to leave and the offender punched the victim in the face. Police were able to identify Zamudio due to witnesses and video surveillance.

• Justin Nodes, 35, of Hazleton, faces multiple charges for an incident that occurred on April 29. Nodes faces charges of strangulation, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, false imprisonment, and harassment.

The female victim went to police after the incident on West Blaine Street. Police said the victim had bruises on her face, arms, ear and neck. The victim said Nodes woke her up and accused her of cheating on him. Nodes allegedly struck the victim with a closed fist in the eye, stomach and ribs. He grabbed the victim by the hair and had one hand around the victim’s neck. The woman attempted to open a window and Nodes allegedly bit the victim’s arm, nose and ear, then gave her a split lip.

• Joseph Stefanisko, 61, of McAdoo, was charged with disorderly conduct for an incident that occurred at 2 a.m. on April 29. Police were dispatched to a residence on West Grant Street for a loud music complaint. Police heard music from the street. Police asked Stefanisko to turn down the music, which he did.

• Vincent Grego, 73, of McAdoo, was charged with driving under the influence after a traffic stop on April 10. Grego failed to use his turn signal three times. Police said he had glossy eyes and they detected alcohol on his breath. He told police he drank “a couple of beers”. Police asked him to submit to field sobriety tests, which he failed. Grego was taken into custody and taken for a blood test, which showed a BAC of 0.107%.
