Beltzville activities

Beltzville State Park will host the following activities:

• Earth Day open house at the Environmental Interpretive Center and park cleanup at 10 a.m. Monday. Celebrate Earth Day by giving back. Help beautify Beltzville State Park on Earth Day.

• Introduction to fly fishing program, 10 a.m. April 27. Fly fishing can be a fun way to fish for the first time or it can present a new experience for seasoned anglers. Anyone, ages 12 years and older with an interest in learning.

• Vernal pool hike at 9 a.m. April 28. Meet at Beltzville State Park’s Sawmill Trail, a moderately difficult 2-mile hike to explore some enchanting vernal pools of Beltzville State Park.

• Black bears talk at 10:30 p.m. May 4. Do you know what to do if you encounter a black bear while hiking? Game Warden Cory Bentzoni from the Pennsylvania Game Commission will speak.
