State police report on Schuylkill crashes

State police at Frackville reported on two crashes investigated by troopers on Schuylkill County roadways recently.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 6:01 a.m. on April 2 along Keystone Boulevard, south of Highridge Park Road, in Cass Township. Troopers said Michael S. White, 21, of Mount Carmel, was driving a 2010 Hyundai Elantra northbound and traveling too fast for conditions when he lost control of the vehicle. The Elantra hit a curb and rolled over onto its roof in the northbound lane, where it came to rest.

White was not injured. He was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.

• Another one-vehicle crash was reported at 7:36 a.m. on April 5 along Route 895 (Summer Valley Road), in East Brunswick Township. Troopers said Javier E. Castro-Cruz, 24, of Reading, was driving a 2019 Freightliner tractor with trailer westbound and traveling too fast for conditions. He lost control of the tractor which crossed into the eastbound lane and onto the berm where it hit the guide rail. After impact the tractor traveled about 50 feet until it came to rest across both lanes of travel.

Castro-Cruz was not injured. He was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
