Tamaqua police report on incidents

Tamaqua police reported on the following incidents.

• Police were on patrol at 9:24 p.m. on March 28 when the officer saw Joshua Scott Honey, 22, of West Broad Street, sitting in the driver’s seat of a blue Jeep parked in front of his residence. The officer knew Honey’s driver’s license is suspended and conformed that through the Schuylkill County Communications Center. The center also reported there are two outstanding arrest warrants for Honey.

As the officer watched, Honey started the Jeep and drove away. The officer followed for a short distance, then activated his lights and siren to make a traffic stop.

Honey continued driving, going around a few blocks, then returning to park in front of his home.

He was taken to the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville to answer to the warrants.

Honey also faces charges for carrying drugs into the prison.

Upon arrival, he was asked if he had anything on him, and he said that he did not. Corrections officers did find a crushed, white substance believed to be suboxone crumbled up in is paperwork.

Charges will be filed.

• Alvaro Sanchez, 35, of Tamaqua, was cited for driving without a license after a crash on March 31. He was driving a black Nissan which struck the driver’s side of a Plymouth Breeze which was pulling out on to Spruce Street from Bowe Street.

There were no injuries and both vehicles were driven from the scene.

• Thomas Robert Jones, 61, of Tamaqua, was charged with criminal mischief after he used his cane to smash a neighbor’s window on March 26. Jones told police he wanted to get the attention of the neighbor’s son and was given permission to smash the window by the landlord. The landlord denied giving such permission.

The next day, March 27, Jones again used his cane to smash a neighbor’s window. This time he told police he did it after having an argument with the same neighbor. He received another citation for criminal mischief.
