Tamaqua posted baseball and softball victories on Thursday.

BASEBALL

Lehighton-Tamaqua

Tamaqua used a four-run fourth inning to grab the lead and then staved off a late Lehighton rally for an 8-7 Schuylkill League win.

The Indians scored twice in the top of the seventh inning and left the tying run on second base.

Nick Breiner led the Blue Raiders with a double, two singles, a run scored and three RBIs. Tate Ligenza delivered a three-run home run, and Brayden Knoblauch added two singles.

Zach Crum paced the Indians with two singles and two runs scored. Mike Bozilesky and Randy Bongiorno both added two singles, a run scored and an RBI.

Matt Burnett led the Bears with a single, double, a run scored and two RBIs. Chris Frable added two singles and an RBI, while Brandon Ratti recorded a single, a double and a run scored.

Noah Snisky recorded the Olympians’ lone hit with an RBI single in the third inning. Jared Joyce scored the lone run.

Lehighton-Tamaqua

Jada Schellhammer tossed a three-hit shutout to lead Tamaqua to an 8-0 Schuylkill League victory over Lehighton.

Schellhammer earned the pitching win, striking out six and walking one.

Jen Frederickson led the Blue Raiders with two doubles, a single, three runs scored and an RBI. Schellhammer finished with a single, double, a run scored and four RBIs.

The Indians’ Heidi Greene had two singles and a walk.

Lyndsey Reinoehl’s 4-for-4 performance at the plate highlighted Marian’s 19-0 Schuylkill League victory over Shenandoah Valley.

Reinoehl finished with three doubles, a homerun, four runs scored and four RBIs. The Fillies’ Abbey Joy added two singles, a double, two runs scored and three RBIs, while Emily Shaud had three singles and two runs scored.

Despite the loss, Nate Andress picked up a straight-set win at No. 1 singles for the Blue Bombers.
