Tamaqua street sweeper resumes work

Spring has sprung and the Tamaqua street sweeper will resume regular, weekly operations the week of April 8.

Tamaqua Borough workers will be posting streets to remind residents of the permanently posted streets to return to the process of moving their vehicles. The permanently posted streets are scheduled for cleaning every Thursday and Friday.

Thursday’s weekly schedule includes: south side of Broad, former Maff Motors to west borough line; South Railroad, Broad to Spruce; Center, Broad to south Route 309 bridge; North Railroad, Broad to north Route 309 bridge.

Streets permanently posted for Fridays include: north side of Broad, former Maff Motors to west borough line; Mauch Chunk, Broad to Pine; Berwick, Broad to Rowe; Nescopec, Hegarty Avenue to Cottage Avenue; Pine, Cedar to north Route 309 bridge.

Street sweeping operations will begin at 5 a.m. on both days.

Parking will be prohibited before and during operations. Vehicles not moved from posted streets at least two hours before the sweeper starts operations are subject to ticketing and towing.

Residents and business owners are welcome to clean their sidewalks the day before their street is cleaned.
