Northwestern Lehigh band performs for visitors at Disney World

The Northwestern Lehigh High School Marching Band recently returned from performing for visitors March 8 in front of the Magic Kingdom castle at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

In an email to The Press, Northwestern Lehigh Band Booster President Sean King said the band spent March 7-10 at the amusement park.

“Northwestern Lehigh High School Band applied last summer to the Walt Disney World corporation for a position to perform at the Magic Kingdom,” King said. “As part of the application process, we were asked to provide photos and videos of the band in performance in the past year.

“After a few weeks, we learned that the band was selected for one of the premier positions in the Magic Kingdom Evening Parade, performing with two other high schools, one other from Pennsylvania and one from Mississippi.”

The sponsors who assisted with their fundraising for the trip include Ai Orthodontics, Creative Kids, Fogelsville Family Practice, The Glasbern, Keller Funeral Home, Kiefer Orthodontics, Marvin Smith Construction, Orefield Veterinary Clinic and Sparky’s Pet Salon.
