Kindergarten registration for the 2019-20 school year for Palmerton Area School District will be held at the district offices, 680 Fourth St., Palmerton, on April 8, 9 and 10 from 8:30-11 a.m. and 12:30 to 2:45 p.m.

This appointment is for processing paperwork for the parent/guardian only.

A second date of June 20 (Towamensing students) or June 24 (Parkside Education students) is scheduled for the student to receive their vision screening and readiness assessment.

Appointment times for testing will be scheduled at the April appointment.

Child must be 5 years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2019, to attend kindergarten. Parents will need to have the child’s birth certificate or other acceptable proof of age.

Proof of immunizations including four doses of tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis (one dose on or after 4th birthday), four doses of polio, three doses of hepatitis B, two doses of measles, mumps and rubella (German measles) and two doses of varicella (chickenpox) or evidence of immunity.

Parents will need two forms of identification to prove residency in the district. Parents are asked to complete the kindergarten registration packet, which can be found on the district website at www.palmerton.org before their scheduled appointment.
