Carbon holds drug lab class for responders

The Carbon County Emergency Management Agency will host a Clandestine Drug Lab Awareness class for all emergency responders on April 25.

The class is free to all first responders and will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the American Fire Co. 1, 26 E. Patterson St., Lansford.

“The reason we are offering this course is due to the extremely dangerous environment these illicit labs create,” Mark Nalesnik, county EMA director, said. “Our first responders are the innocent people at risk to these very hazardous environments.”

The course will be presented by a highly qualified and experienced Pennsylvania State Police forensic scientist, Nalesnik added.

Participants must be over 18 to attend the class.

To register, call the Carbon County Emergency Management Agency at 570-325-3097, fax 570-325-9132, or email ccema@ptd.net.

The EMA also announced the following emergency services training sessions available to emergency personnel in the coming months. Only classes with openings are listed.
