State police at the Lehighton barracks investigated a one-vehicle crash at 8:34 a.m. Saturday on Blue Mountain Drive in Lower Towamensing Township.

A 2013 Kia Rio was traveling southbound when it approached the entrance to the ski patrol in the area of the Blue Mountain Ski Resort. The operator attempted to make a U-turn in the open entrance area of the ski patrol area in an attempt to travel northbound. Police said the tires of the Kia began to slip and the vehicle slid into the open gate. Police said the vehicle was driven from the scene to the ski patrol area parking lot.

Police said the driver sustained a nose bleed and was treated by the alpine patrol of the resort. The vehicle was drivable but was towed to the driver’s residence upon her request.
