Pocono Mountain Regional Police report on incidents

Pocono Mountain Regional Police have reported on two recent incidents.

• Police responded to the 200 block of Cottontail Lane, Gouldsboro, in Coolbaugh Township, around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday for a report of a domestic incident. On scene, a woman told officers her boyfriend, Jason Bokow, 33, of that address, was intoxicated and assaulted her. She said that Bokow slammed her head into a door, choked her and threw her outside. Officers observed injuries consistent with her statements.

Bokow was placed under arrest and charged with strangulation, a felony; simple assault; and harassment. He was placed in the county prison in Sndyersville but has since been released.

• A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence and related counts following a crash at 1:45 a.m. Feb. 10. Police were dispatched to Robinwood Drive in Coolbaugh Township for a report of a vehicle being driven up and down the road possibly dragging metal. On scene, officers located a black Chervolet Tahoe parked in a driveway in the 7100 block of Robinwood Drive. The vehicle was still running and front end damage was observed.

Officers found a man sleeping in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. He was identified as Robert R. Canecchio, 56, of Tobyhanna. Upon waking Canecchio officers determined he was under the influence of alcohol. A further investigation revealed Canecchio’s vehicle went off the road on Route 196 and struck a stone wall. He then continued on to Robinwood Drive.

Canecchio has been charged with DUI, accidents involving unattended property, immediate notice of accident to police and careless driving.
