Carbon business cited by PLCB

A Carbon County business has been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board for violating the state liquor code.

Sapore Restaurant, 99 E. Bridge St., Lehighton, was cited for a violation on Jan. 17 in that it sold, furnished and/or permitted such sale, furnishing or giving of alcoholic beverages to a minor. The citation was issued Feb. 20.

This charge will be brought before an administrative law judge who had the authority to impose penalties ranging form $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can impose a license suspension or revocation based on the severity of the charge brought.
