Two hurt in Ross Township collision

Two people were injured and taken to the hospital after a collision at 7:48 a.m. Feb. 26 on Blue Ridge Road in Ross Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said Romayne S. Van Why, 71, of Stroudsburg, and Pamela J. Stanchus, 63, of Kunkletown, were transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg, by the West End Ambulance corps.

Police said the crash occurred when Van Why, driving a 2010 GMC Terrain west on Blue Ridge Road, attempted to make a left turn into a driveway and turned, striking the driver’s side of a 2008 Subaru Outback driven eastbound by Stanchus.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damages, police said.
