An arrest warrant has been issued for a Bowmanstown man found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Adam Shimer of the Palmerton Borough Police Department:

On Jan. 25, Shimer saw a black 2012 Ram truck traveling west on Delaware Avenue and knew the registered owner’s driving privileges were under suspension as part of a DUI conviction.

He stopped the truck and identified the driver as Brad Bowman, 38.

Shimer saw the state inspection sticker affixed to the truck’s windshield with clear tape.

The sticker was altered to offer an additional year of compliance.

Shimer asked Bowman to get out of the vehicle and removed the altered inspection sticker.

Shimer saw a pen-style tube with white residue on it lying on the driver’s floor area.

A Dakota .45 revolver was concealed under the driver’s side rear seat, and he didn’t see a concealed carry permit.

After a field impairment tests, Bowman admitted he had taken OxyContin and Adderall.

A blood test indicated that he had methamphetamine and amphetamines in his blood.

The white residue was confirmed to be methamphetamine and/or MDMA.

Bowman faces charges on two counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance; and one count each of firearms not to be carried without a license; altered, forged or counterfeit documents and plates; possession of drug paraphernalia; and operation of vehicle without official certificate of inspection.
