2019 primary election: Dudish seeks bid for re-election as Recorder of Deeds of Schuylkill County

Incumbent Recorder of Deeds Ann Dudish is seeking a bid for re-election in Schuylkill County.

The voters elected Dudish, a Republican, in 2015. Dudish would like to thank the voters for their continued support.

The Recorder of Deeds office maintains permanent records of all documents related to real estate, such as deeds, mortgages and subdivision plans.

“I believe providing accessible and efficient public access to the permanent records is an essential function of my office.”

During Dudish’s four-year tenure, she completed a digital records project to provide access back to 1949 on the public access terminals in the office and through pa.uslandrecords.com. Dudish instituted the process of e-Recording in the office. Dudish has gone through four county and two state audits with zero deficiencies.

“I also hold a seat on the Legislative Committee for the Pennsylvania Recorder of Deeds Association. In this capacity, I can provide expert input to bills presented before the state Legislature that have a direct impact on the recorder’s office.”

Dudish previously was a financial controller for Richard B. Ryon Insurance, Anthracite Abstract Company and Murphy Jewelers.

Dudish is a lifelong resident of Schuylkill County and graduate of Pottsville Area High School. She is the widow of A. Matthew Dudish, who passed away during his last term as Recorder of Deeds. Dudish was appointed by Gov. Tom Corbett in 2014 to serve for the remainder of his term.

Dudish is president of Anthracite Abstract Company Inc., a local title agency, that her late husband started over 40 years ago. She is a member of American Land Title Association, the Pennsylvania Recorder of Deeds Association, an affiliate member of the Schuylkill County Board of Realtors, and a member of the Schuylkill County Chamber of Commerce. She is a licensed property, casualty, life, accident and health insurance agent and holds the CISR designation.

Dudish is a life member of the Lehigh Valley Hospital — Schuylkill Auxiliary, a Make-A-Wish Foundation wish granting volunteer, a member of the Board of Directors of the Schuylkill EMS and a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.
