Man who died in skiing accident identified

Officials have identified a man who died Sunday night in a skiing accident at Blue Mountain Ski Area.

Noel J. Pagan Jr., 21, of Allentown, died around 6 p.m. after he went off a jump on the Yeti Trail, a beginner trail.

Pagan was not wearing a helmet. He was transported to St. Luke’s Palmerton Campus, where he later died.

Carbon County Coroner Robert Miller said the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and neck.

Pagan’s death marked the second death at the resort this season.

On Jan. 1, Connor Golembiewski, 17, of Flemington, New Jersey fell off a ski lift.

The resort was also the site of two fatal crashes last year.

On March 15, 2018, 20-year-old Euna Shin of Piscataway, New Jersey, died from head injuries after a fall while snowboarding.

Grygoriy Sologub, 53, of Marcus Hook, outside of Philadelphia, died Jan. 21, 2018, from blunt-force trauma to the head and neck after another skier ran into him on a slope.
