Tamaqua police have cited Harry O. Valentine, 49, of Barnesville, in connection with a multivehicle crash on Jan. 25.

Valentine was driving a 2012 Mack truck south on Route 309, approaching the Taggertsville Road intersection, when he noticed several vehicles had stopped to allow a dump truck to make the turn. Unable to stop in time, Valentine went into the northbound lane, but his rig struck the dump truck on the driver’s side. He also struck a trailer it was towing, which held a backhoe. The truck also hit a black Infinity coupe which was stopped in the northbound lane waiting to turn on to Taggertsville Road.

No one was injured in the crash.

Valentine was cited for careless driving, passing in a no passing zone and driving at an unsafe speed.
