State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a three-vehicle, rear-end crash at the intersection of Route 61 near the Seven Stars Road jughandle in North Manheim Township, Schuylkill County. The crash occurred at 12:16 p.m. Monday.

Troopers said Elaine D. Clews, 66, of Port Carbon, was northbound in the left lane driving a Buick Encore when she failed to see traffic stopped at a red light ahead of her. The front of her Buick hit the rear of a 2012 GMC Terrain driven by Benjamin Rivera, 46, of Pottsville, pushing it into the rear of a 1998 Toyota RAV 4 driven by Joshua A. Zelinsky, 18, of Port Carbon.

Clews was injured and taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital — East, Pottsville. A 16-year-old girl from Shenandoah in Rivera’s vehicle, sustained a possible injury, but was not transported. No one else was injured. All vehicles had to be towed.

Troopers cited Clews for following too closely.
