Monroe County Commissioner Charles Garris, Republican, has announced that he will be seeking another term as commissioner. Garris is currently serving the county as vice chairman.

Garris said that he has a lot to finish and would like to stick around to see that the assessment goes smoothly and to see that Pleasant Valley Manor continues under good management.

Garris is also looking forward to being part of the expansion of the county courthouse.

Garris will be on the primary ballot in May.
