The Parsonage named one of the best B&Bs in the US

The Parsonage Bed and Breakfast in Jim Thorpe has been named the second in a list of the Top Inns/B&Bs in the U.S. by TripAdvisor.

The world’s largest travel site announced the winners of its Travelers’ Choice Awards honoring the best hotels throughout the U.S. and around the world on Wednesday.

The inn, owned by Jeffri Coleman and Michael Rivkin, was also ranked sixth of the Best B&Bs and Inns in the world. It was the only American bed-and-breakfast to land in the top 10.

Award winners were determined based on the millions of reviews and opinions collected in a single year from TripAdvisor travelers worldwide.

Coleman was ecstatic when he learned of the designation, but said those great guest reviews go beyond the doors of The Parsonage.

“We send folks to the No. 9 Mine for the tour and then advise a pierogi stop at Lengyl’s in Nesquehoning on their way back. We pour Graver’s cider. If they want it, we send them to Mallard Market to pick it up on the way,” said Coleman.

“As Michael and I see it, the truth of the ... Trip Advisor placement is this: The folks who give us the great reviews to earn the honor are not just reviewing The Parsonage, it’s about the their whole experience — the train, the bicycling, the rafting, the dining, the pubbing, the shopping, great places to stay, the festivals, the opera house, the museums. It’s Jim Thorpe in general as well as our entire region, because we promote it all.”
