State police at Lehighton

State police at Lehighton reported on the following incidents:

• The theft of basketball sneakers owned by a boy at a school in Towamensing Township is being investigated by state police. The theft was reported at 7:10 p.m. Monday along Interchange Road. They said the boys sneakers, valued at $200, were stolen from the locker room while the victim was home from school.

• State police are investigating a theft that happened between 9 p.m. Jan. 8 and 2 p.m. Jan. 9 in Bowmanstown. Police said a 40-year-old woman from White Street told them a child’s bicycle and work boots were stolen from her back porch. The bicycle is a blue Kink kids bike valued at $300, and the boots are a Brahma model, tan work boot, valued at $55.

• Suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found in a car after a traffic stop at 3:53 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Interchange Road in Polk Township. Police said the 2006 Mercury Mariner was stopped for traffic violations, and police found the passenger had contraband. Charges are pending the results of laboratory testing, police said.
