It’s the Reader’s Turn at Pleasant Valley Elementary

Third-graders at Pleasant Valley Elementary School were recently asked, “What are your favorite books and authors?”

Hunter Farkas, 8, of Gilbert loves the series Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney. “I love ‘The Ugly Truth’ and all of the series. I love that I get to follow the main character through all sorts of adventures.”
Cole Vanderah, 9, of Kresgeville, also loves the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. “My favorite is ‘The Meltdown.’ But I also love ‘The Last Kids on Earth’ by Max Brallier. They are very similar series.”
Robert Dekleine, 8, of Saylorsburg really enjoys reading about Big Nate. “I love ‘Big Nate Goes Bananas.’ He is very funny and interesting, and there are a lot of books in the series, so there is always something else to read. I especially like that Nate gets into trouble and has to solve his problems.” Big Nate is written by Lincoln Peirce.
Ethan Duran, 9, of Effort enjoys Geronimo Stilton’s “The Curse of the Cheese Pyramid.” “There are a lot of books in the series and in every one you get to go on an adventure.”
Cody Ristine, 8, of Gilbert loves to read anything fantasy fiction. “ ‘The Kingdom of Wrenly — The Scarlet Dragon” is one of my favorites, and I have read every book in the series. I really like that the books are about animals. This one is about a dragon, another one was about a horse. The stories take you on adventures.”
Victoria Cappelletti, 8, of Effort loved the “Stone Fox” by John Reynolds Gardiner. “The story is about little Willy going through a lot of things. His grandfather is getting sick and is going to lose his farm unless Willy helps him. Willy works hard to help save the farm and has to enter a dog sled race.” Cappelletti says there is a surprise ending to the story.
