January 11, 1966 — Jim Thorpe’s balanced scoring attack results in a 65-63 Anthracite League victory over St. Gabriel’s. Four Olympians finish with double-digit scoring, while a fifth misses by a point. Joey Morgan leads the way for Thorpe, coached by Phil Rader, with 16 points. Dennis Balliet contributes 14, while Bobby Brown and Mike Tessitore each finish with 13.
