If you ever wonder why nothing seems to get done in Harrisburg, or why there is so much discord between the parties, this is one reason: Republican leadership has created a rule which allows one single legislator in a leadership position to block a bill which has strong public and bipartisan support. Even when it is supported by a Majority of House members!

Two years ago, they passed another resolution which limits each representative to a total of five minutes to speak on any one bill. Even if the bill is changed in committee several times. This effectively takes power away from your elected representative, and gives all the power to a small committee.

Call your representative, and tell them you want an amendment passed that would ensure that bills are guaranteed a fair debate, and a vote.
