One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash along Interstate 81 in Butler Township, Schuylkill County, that occurred at 7:21 p.m. Wednesday.

State police at Frackville said Gilbert Hunt, 54, of Syracuse, New York, was northbound in the left lane when he attempted to merge into the right lane. His 2016 Freightliner struck a 2005 Buick Century driven by Brianna R. Wengrenovich, 23, of Shamokin, who was northbound in the right lane.

Wengrenovich was injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital East Campus, Pottsville. The Buick had to be towed.

Hunt was cited for the crash.
