Support group

A Grief and Loss Support Group will meet at Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville) at 1 p.m. Jan. 9.

This is a monthly support group which will meet the second Wednesday of each month.

Directed by a professional counselor, this group is for people experiencing grief due to trauma, loss, or death. Everyone is welcome. There is no cost.

Knitting Club

The Knitting Club will meet at the Palmerton Area Library from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. The club is free and open to anyone interested in knitting and crocheting of all skill levels.

Friends of the Library

Friends of the Palmerton Area Library meet four times a year. The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Everyone is welcome.

Al-Anon groups

Al-Anon family groups meet at different locations in the Palmerton/Bowmanstown areas.

Alateen Support Group for teens of family struggling with alcohol meets at Faith Alive United Methodist Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown) from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.

Adult Al-Anon and AA meetings take place at the same time. Call 570-730-8601 for more information.

Courage to Change Al-Anon Family Group meets at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 891 Columbia Ave., Palmerton from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays. For more information call 570-861-4928.

Baseball registration

The Palmerton Towamensing Athletic Association will hold spring baseball registration from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the West End Fire Co. No. 2, 855 Princeton Ave., Palmerton.

Clothing collection

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 891 Columbia Ave., Palmerton, has announced that it continues collecting clothing. The shed was taken away and replaced with three bright-red recycling bins placed at the far end of the parking lot near the creek. Clothing, purses, belts, shoes, curtains, sheets, etc. will be accepted. St. John’s thanks you for your continued patronage.

Family history

Do you know who your family is? Visit the Palmerton Area Library from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to learn how to research your family history. This is held the second Tuesday of each month.

Breakfast

Breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday at the Parryville Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2, 359 Main St. Platter choices include pancakes, French toast, SOS, eggs, omelets or popular Fire House Mess. Choice of meats are bacon, ham, sausage or scrapple. Includes home fries, juice and coffee. Large and small platters available.

Free community meal

A free community meal will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 891 Columbia Ave., Palmerton. Enjoy a meal and fellowship.
