Argument leads to felon’s arrest in Coolbaugh Twp.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police said they arrested Gary V. Keesler, 59, of Tobyhanna, who they identified as a convicted felon, for being in possession of a firearm and aggravated assault following the investigation of an incident in November.

Keesler was committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility in Snydersville.

Police said they were called on Dec. 3 to a residence in Coolbaugh Township to investigate an assault that took place on Nov. 26, and upon arrival learned Keesler and a friend of his were involved in a verbal argument that turned physical. The victim suffered a broken nose, closed head injuries and facial contusions.

While investigating, police said they were informed that Keesler was in possession of a firearm that was in his residence. Upon execution of a warrant on Dec. 9, the firearm and other related materials were located.
