No increase in West Penn Twp. budget

West Penn Township residents won’t have to dig deeper into their wallets to pay their municipal tax rate next year.

Not after the township’s board of supervisors on a 2-0 vote Monday morning adopted the 2019 budget with no tax increase. Supervisor Tim Houser was absent.

Next year’s $2,561,361 spending plan will leave the millage rate at 4.75 mills, something board Chairman Tony Prudenti said is a credit to all those who helped construct it.

“I’m very happy to say with the diligence of this board, we will have no tax increase for the year 2019,” Prudenti said.

In addition to the board, Prudenti also lauded everyone involved who played a role in crafting next year’s budget.

Last December, supervisors agreed to adopt this year’s $2.3 million spending plan with no tax increase.
