Palmerton man’s property damaged in crash

A Palmerton man’s property was damaged Saturday morning when a person suspected to be driving under the influence crashed into his yard.

State police at Lehighton said the incident happened at 11:29 a.m. on the property of Karl Pielmeier, located at the intersection of Hahns Dairy and Spruce Hollow roads in Lower Towamensing Township.

Police said a 2002 Chrysler Sebring crashed and caused $500 in damages to the front lawn of the home.

Police said the driver, whose name has not been released, was suspected to be under the influence of marijuana. The investigation is continuing.
