Nesquehoning man faces drug charges

A Nesquehoning man is facing drug-related charges after police found fentanyl in his home.

On Oct. 16, Nesquehoning police began a narcotics investigation on a home along East Railroad Street after receiving complaints of drug activity at the residence.

A search warrant was executed on Nov. 8 and two individuals were detained, one of whom was Gregory A. Ward Jr., 50.

During the search, police found 20 wax packets containing fentanyl, as well as other drug paraphernalia.

Ward said that he had a previous injury that led to his addiction.

Ward was charged with criminal use of a communication facility for using a cellphone to call his dealer, who would then drop off a brick of fentanyl; unlawful possession of a controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
