Towamensing Township budget holds line on taxes

Towamensing Township Supervisors agreed Thursday to advertise the 2019 budget, which holds taxes at the current rate.

The budget totals $1,305,475. Chairwoman Penny Kleintop was not present for the vote.

Vice Chairman Thomas Newman said a large expenditure included in the budget is repaving Pohopoco Drive in the spring.

The budget will be available for public viewing and will be adopted at the next meeting.

Real estate taxes remain at 2 mills and the earned income tax stays at 1 percent.
