State police investigate theft incidents

State police at Lehighton reported on the following theft incidents investigated by troopers.

• A 45-year-old man of Murphy Lane, Kunkletown, Polk Township, Monroe County, reported an external marine battery was removed from his camper parked at his residence. The theft was reported on Nov. 29.

• A 51-year-old woman from Halina Way, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, reported a package was stolen from her front porch. The incident was reported on Monday. The value of the stolen property was set at $114.

• A 65-year-old woman from Michael Street in Saylorsburg, reported she was scammed out of money. The investigation is continuing.

• State police were summoned at 7:03 a.m. Tuesday to Church Hill Road, East Penn Township, where they cited two individuals who physically harassed each other. Charged were Andrea Sicora, 35, and Derek Sheckler, 51, both of Lehighton.

• A 57-year-old Kunkletown man was arrested on drug possession charges. Police said they found the man to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine in the area of Hamilton and 11th streets, Lehighton, at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday. Police did not release the man’s name.

• Kathleen Higgins, 53, of Maspeth, New York, will be charged with assault charges for causing bodily injuries after an incident at 7:39 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Church Road, Eldred Township. The victim is a 46-year-old Kunkletown woman. The result of a physical altercation between the two women.
