Couple face murder charges in fentanyl death of daughter

UPPER DARBY(AP) — A Pennsylvania couple has been accused of killing their 10-month-old daughter who died after ingesting fentanyl.

Upper Darby police have charged 31-year-old Joseph Milano and 34-year-old Lauren Semanyk with third-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child. The Delaware County Times reports both have been remanded to the Delaware County Jail without bail following their arraignments.

Authorities say the infant ingested fentanyl and her parents allegedly waited six hours before calling 911.

Police say they were called to the scene in April and found Milano on the sidewalk in front of the house, shouting that the baby was not breathing. The girl later died and the medical examiner ruled the death as a homicide due to ingestion of fentanyl.

No attorney information is available in online court documents.
