Man jailed in Tamaqua domestic

A domestic dispute in Tamaqua on Nov. 22 resulted in the arrest and incarceration of Troy David Emerich, 54, of Valley Road, Tamaqua.

Officers were called to a home in the 200 block of Pine Street at 11:14 p.m. that day where they met with a female victim, who was bleeding from the facial area. She said Emerich slapped her and hit her in the mouth with a lamp during an argument.

Emerich admitted they were arguing and that he may have pushed her, but wasn’t sure whether or not he hit her.

He was arraigned before District Magisterial Judge David Rossi on charges of simple assault and harassment, with bail set at $15,000 straight cash. He was taken to the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville in lieu of bail.
