State police investigate crashes

State police at Lehighton reported on three crashes investigated on Friday by troopers.

A one-vehicle crash occurred at 8:03 a.m. along Route 248 in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Brandi L. Delgado, 34, of Catasauqua, was driving a 2005 Toyota Sienna eastbound in the left lane when she lost control of the vehicle. The front left tire made initial impact with the middle barrier, then traveled onto the middle barrier and came to final rest with its left side resting on top of the barrier.

Delgado and two juveniles, both age 6, a boy and a girl, were not injured. She was cited for the crash.

A three-vehicle, rear-end crash was reported at 5:09 p.m. along Route 115 at the intersection with Evergreen Court, in Ross Township, Monroe County. Troopers said vehicles operated by Joshua M. Kleedorfer, 36, of Luzerne, Luzerne County, and Linda L. Meylach, 68, of Brodheadsville, were stopped in the westbound lane for an unknown vehicle ahead of them waiting to make a turn. Patricia L. Strunk, 25, of East Stroudsburg, was westbound and failed to stop, with the front of her 2005 Kia Spectre striking the rear of Kleedorfer’s 2004 Volkswagen GL pushing it into the rear of Meylach’s 2012 Nissan Rogue.

Troopers indicated Kleedorfer received medical treatment at the scene by West End ambulance personnel. No one else was injured. Blue Ridge Fire Company volunteers also assisted at the scene. The Kia and Volkswagen had to be towed.

Troopers cited Strunk for a restraint systems violation.

The third crash occurred at 8:35 p.m. along Jonas Road in Polk Township, Monroe County. David B. Acree, 39, of Effort, was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche westbound when his vehicle crossed over the centerline into the oncoming lane and onto the berm where it impacted with a utility pole.

Acree was treated at the scene by West End ambulance personnel. The Avalanche had to be towed. Polk Township Fire Company volunteers assisted at the scene.
