November 19, 1955 — Bob Hofford throws two touchdown passes and runs for another to lead Lehighton to a 61-0 victory over Jim Thorpe. Hofford tosses a 20-yard scoring strike to Jim Klotz, and finds Jake Jacoby for a 22-yard TD pass. Hofford also reaches the end zone on a 4-yard run. The Indians, coached by Charlie Gernerd, receive touchdown runs of 22 and 31 yards from Carl “Skippy” Klotz, while Jacoby adds another on a 21-yard run. Merle Wolfe runs for a 16-yard score and also tosses a 38-yard TD pass to Bill Focht. The winners also score when Marv Miller blocks a punt and Ron Moyer recovers the ball in the end zone.
