Schuylkill County court

Schuylkill County judges have sent three people charged by local police to state prison.

In addition to their sentences, all were ordered to pay court costs and fees.

Christine Alfaro

, 46, of Tamaqua, was charged by Rush Township police with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one of having drug paraphernalia on Jan. 11.

She pleaded guilty to one count of possession.

President Judge William E. Baldwin sentenced her to six to 24 months in state prison, to begin at 9 a.m. Nov. 14.

John S. Murphy

, 42, of Lansford, was charged by Coaldale police with theft and receiving stolen property on Oct. 20, 2016.

He pleaded guilty to theft, and Baldwin sentenced him to one to two years in state prison.

Tihanne R. Wright

, 27, of Lansford, was charged by Tamaqua police in two cases, both involving drugs.

In one, he was charged with delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver, criminal use of a communication facility, and possession of a controlled substance on Jan. 18.

In that case, he pleaded guilty to possession with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance.

Judge James P. Goodman sentenced him to four to 24 months in state prison.

In the second case, Wright was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver, criminal use of a communication facility, and possession of a small amount of marijuana on Dec. 20, 2017.

He pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to deliver and criminal use of a communication facility.

Goodman sentenced Wright to four to 24 months in state prison, followed by a year on probation.

His sentence begins at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 19.
