Emergency personnel work to extricate the operator of a tractor-trailer involved in a crash at the 110 mile marker of I-81 in Schuylkill County earlier today.

The crash occurred in a construction zone with the victim driving into the rear of another tractor-trailer.

The rescue operation took two hours. The cab of the rig was torn from the frame.

State police at Frackville are investigating the incident and have not released further details at this time.

Traffic was backed up for miles. I-81 was closed at the Tremont exit.
