A look back: Nov. 10, 1989

With plans to install a computer system in the Jim Thorpe Borough office, that community’s council went on record Thursday night as being in favor of relocating the headquarters to the former caretaker’s property at Memorial Park.

Chairman David Rimsky said the present quarters on the first floor of the Phoenix Hose Company building along West Broadway, opposite the Church of the Immaculate Conception parking lot, is too small to accommodate the new system.

The move was recommended in the written report of Councilman Ronald Sheenan. Rimsky brought it to the floor and it won unanimous approval from the board members.
