October 30, 1960 — Two touchdowns in the game’s final four minutes lifts Marian to a 20-18 comeback win over Shenandoah Catholic. Trailing by 11 points, Bill Donovan tosses a 40-yard touchdown pass to Joe Novak to pull the Colts, coached by “Wink” Gallagher, within one score. Donovan intercepts a pass and Novak runs for an 18-yard pickup to set up George Boyle’s go-ahead 11-yard scoring run. The winners, who actually trailed by a 12-0 count at halftime, also receive a 4-yard TD run from Adrian Ferko.
