A hit-and-run driver, who police said was texting when the crash occurred, is being sought in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said a vehicle was driven southbound in the 600 block of Hobart Street in Gordon borough around 7:10 p.m. on Oct. 11 when the left side of the vehicle struck a 2016 Mazda CX9 parked in the 600 block of Hobart Street. After impact the driver fled the scene southbound Troopers said a video security system owned by the victim showed the driver of the hit-and-run was texting at the time of the crash. It also showed that the vehicle in question was a dark-colored Ford F150 pickup, 2004-2005 model year.

Troopers said that the video also showed adequate light of the driver’s facial area that was lit up by the electronic texting device or phone being used at the time.
