St. Jerome Regional School receives piece of private funding pie

Nine nonprofit organizations across the region will receive monetary assistance this year to fund a variety of their technological needs thanks to one Allentown-based information technology corporation.

Computer Aid Inc., the private entity distributing the funds, is awarding more that $300,000 in total to Boys and Girls Clubs in Allentown, Easton and Pittsburgh, as well as St. Jerome Regional School in Tamaqua, Holy Infancy School in Bethlehem, the Joshua Group in Harrisburg, St. John Vianney Regional School in Allentown, St. Stephens Episcopal School in Harrisburg and St. Thomas More School in Allentown.

The money comes in the form of grants awarded through the corporation’s community service initiative known as CAI Cares – Education4Kids and is for the 2018-2019 academic year. It helps cover the cost of annual subscription fees for technologically advanced reading and mathematics curriculum, and could also supplement projects like STEM labs or funding for children’s scholarships.

Computer Aid, Inc. wrote in a news release that the purpose of its initiative is to support local organizations in their efforts to serve underprivileged youth through education.
