The Eastern Schuylkill Democratic Club met on Sept. 24 and welcomed 54 new memberships. President Karen Davison encouraged those who want to join to contact membership chairwoman Joan Deitrich at 570-668-4679.

The club meets on the fourth Monday of each month at the Tamaqua Elks with the next meeting at 7 p.m. Oct. 22. The club encompasses the areas of Rush, Schuylkill, Walker and West Penn townships, and the boroughs of Coaldale, McAdoo, New Ringgold and Tamaqua.
