Teen caught in act of break-in

A Schuylkill County teen was apprehended after breaking into a county car dealership.

State police at Frackville said troopers responded to the Hillside Auto Sales & Service, 11 Vulcan Hill Road, Mahanoy City, at 8:18 p.m. Sunday to a report of a burglary in progress. The garage on the property was searched and found inside, hiding under a forklift, was Braeden Delong, 18, of Mahanoy City. He was taken into custody without incident.

An investigation revealed that Delong forced open an office window to gain entry. Once inside he removed various sets of keys for automobiles on the lot. He also removed a snap-on ratchet. He then vandalized the office by smearing grease and writing satanic comments on windows and office equipment. Damages were estimated at $590 and the value of the items taken was $230.

He was later arraigned on charges of burglary and related counts. The investigation into the incident is continuing, troopers added.
