Warrant leads to arrest

A Tamaqua woman ended up in the Schuylkill County Prison on Sept. 24 as Tamaqua Police assisted Rush Township Police on the execution of an arrest warrant.

Police went to a home on Pitt Street searching for Samuel Smolar. While they didn’t find him, they did find Lucia Stroble, 32, who was wanted by the Schuylkill County Adult Probation Office.

Stroble tried to flee through the rear door, but was met by an officer. She was carrying a pink backpack and a box. Officers searched her belongings and found several baggies containing white substances, numerous empty baggies, syringes, a spoon with burn marks, a pipe with burn marks, a razor blade, scissors and cotton swabs.

She was taken to the county prison by adult probation officials and faces additional charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
