Teen charged with causing damages

A Summit Hill teen is facing charges he caused damages to his elderly neighbor’s house last week.

Borough police said criminal charges were filed against a 17-year-old Summit Hill boy in connection to an incident that occurred around 3:45 a.m. Sept. 29. Police said the teen damaged his elderly neighbor’s residence by throwing eggs, bricks and pieces of pavement against her house and through her windows. An officer was on foot patrol and caught him in the act. The boy was taken into custody and continually screamed obscenities. He was charged with persistent disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and two counts of harassment.

Damages to the property were estimated at $680.

In another matter, police said they are investigating the theft of a trailer from the borough. During the overnight hours of Sept. 30 someone stole a 6-by-8-foot custom built aluminum trailer from the rear of a business off Lehigh Street. The estimated value of the trailer is $1,000.
