October 2, 1970 — Barry Reed scores two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to help Lehighton rally for a 20-13 Lehigh Valley League win over Slatington. Reed breaks loose for a 28-yard scoring run with 7:22 left to play, but a two-point conversion fails leaving the Indians trailing by one point. After its defense forces a three-and-out, Lehighton marches 50 yards for the go-ahead score. The drive is aided by an 18-yard run by Dave Snyder and a fourth-down penalty on the Bulldogs. Reed crosses the goal line from three yards out with 1:53 remaining. The Indians, coached by Jim Wentz, also receive a touchdown run from Rich Hopstock.
